DISKELION "REMEMBER SORROW" AMAZING ALBUM!

DISKELION "REMEMBER SORROW"
AMAZING ALBUM!

By Darkzen

Gaby Koss was born in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, and always sang a lot in school! at age 10 he began playing the piano with a teacher each week and visited the local weekly church choir. She studied Music and Education at the LMU (Ludwig-Maximilian-University) in Munich, Beforhand she took private lessons singing with the vocal masters like Dietrich Schneider (who taught well known professional singers and famous tölzer Knabenchor) and now for many years he is with his teacher and tenor Saverio Suárez Ribaudo in Munich, who is very experienced and also works with a lot of professional singers

Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to hear this great album! And for the support of our friend Gaby Koss!

The album is: Remember Sorrow

Country: Germany

Band: Diskelion

Alignment:

Tom Harris - Guitar and Keyboards
Gaby Koss - Soprano, vocal

Guest Artists:

Kerstin Bischof - Ex-Xandria
Soule - Diabulus in Musica
Ida Elena - Cantus Lunaris & Bare Infinity
Julie deletoile - Vortex Kosmik
Hannah Wagner - Saeldes Sanc

Daniel - Viola - (Nota Profana)
Albert Dannenman - Flute (Cantus Lunaris, Blackmores Night)
Sebastian - low (Symbolic)
Manuel di Camillo - drums (Ex-Equilibrium)

Genre: Symphonic Metal Neo Classical

Forward, we go to Review!

Forgotten feat. Zuberoa Aznarez

Has a input fantastic and prelude, sequences atmospheric and symphonic very nice, sound to the guitars and drums I hear quite attached without opaque voices Gaby and Zube, they have hue and color in her vocal range, sharpest Zube, but perfectly clear rhythm and nuance, it is a very atmospheric track and falsetto both speechless! And an end with a wide vocal Gaby beautiful. The speed of the intermediate track, and in time.

Hannah Duet Farawey Saeldes Sanc

Admission Viola gives an exquisite touch! And it is part of the body of the song throughout the track, pretty nuanced voices, very little is the difference between the two and that's very nice! The pace of the track is faster with more technical with the guitar and drums, pretty good song, perfect time between music and speech, the ending is very epic like the mysterious and provocative start!

Call my name

Mysticism and emotional track, musical structure stronger and more space in time, with a little more speed on track, the voices and chorus in unison and a bit sharper! Power and intermediate in excellent voice! End and beginning same structure and strong!

Cry for me Ida Elena Duet

A very different track speed, style and sound, more power! With classic touch! The voices of our beautiful very nuanced singers with similar vocal ranges, and on par in speed of the song! Varied! I find it rewarding!

Since the beginning the three previous songs are slower compared to 'Cry for' me, with the structure consistent with this song and gives it a touch of an excellent intermediate Epic Power Metal characteristic!

Silent Voice

What can I say, exquisite entrance, keyboards and viola very atmospheric and environmental, range of voice and perfect vocals of Gaby, don’t change she maintained and it is important to keep clear the musical nuance with the background music accompanying a track quieter in speed.

My Spirits Despair

A more rapid and forceful entry! The body of the song very well structured with intermediate speed, salient symphonic strings, good coordination between the broad falsetto high note with a musical sequence companion!

Remember Sorrow

An atmospheric song rewarding management of viola! The Voice according to the musical theme as in the case of the previous songs, with more musical space extension, melodic song on vocals together! And intermediate speed.

Forever One Duet Julie deletoile (Kosmik Vortex)

Forceful in handling the guitar! Superb handling voice, I like the variation in the hue of the voices, you can clearly hear that they have different tones, but it is only little difference, and that makes a whole both voices are heard more attendance! A slightly more serious than the other, speed slower song but we can hear the song structure and vocals.

Brocken Dream Duet Kerstin Bischof

Input masterful mid-century, a very epic atmosphere! And as expected, is the last track, must finish strong, Kerstin's voice I love, and severe range, smooth and clear tone, Gaby a little but only a little sharper, I like the vocal range of the set! Do not sound like one, but each different but with the same amplitude in time and clearly, that is quite appreciated! Musical Structure and times between each without problem, without overpowering the vocals with an excellent final falsetto!

My Recommendation

Manages to convey the emotion and feeling to the songs, it's an epic, neoclassical, medieval album a perfect musical structure and the voices are clear evidence of this, they perfectly align with the songs in the time and speed, very atmospheric, highly nuanced the album is perfectly done, the cover art tells us dark but mystic, I really think it's one of the albums of this year, recommended for those seeking a new Neo classic style, varied voices and styles. It is also good to hear the voice combinations because we can listen to skills together and listen to a perfect work, but the common thing we have heard this type of sets over a guest voice.

The first song tells us a lot in style and musical structure of the rest of the album, as is the entrance!

+ The good

It is a very well recorded album, musically varied, symphonic sequences of background greats! and sublime at the same time, continuous, and smooth, with detailed instrumental inputs, which clearly shows his own style and voice, change the style of some songs, and that is good and advantageous because it does not fall into the common and monotonous.

-The bad

I think the disc, you missed more songs! but I think not, given that if it is too long, sometimes the songs are repeated in music and vocal similarities.

Originality and Creativity

Both the letter, as in music, has its own stamp and a combination of styles which is new yet classic look, with the medieval epic introduction and giving the current strong charm

Musical Technique

Good handling of instruments throughout the album! I hear it forcefully, showing and transmitting the performance of the song at the time and voice, emotion and such and such a recognition of guest musicians! Good job.

Tom Harris - Guitar and Keyboards
Daniel - Viola - (Unholy Note)
Albert Dannenman - Flute (Cantus Lunaris, Blackmores Night)
Sebastian - low (Symbolic)
Manuel di Camillo - drums (Ex-Equilibrium)

Voices:

Well I can tell, this point for my brand much variance within the album with this kind of musical style, as the combination of musical styles should go hand in hand, with the rank order voice, handling various types of voice is perfect, in this musical work

Kerstin Bischof (ex-Xandria)

Classical voice soft and light with a range which can be heard in the duet with Gaby, having the same vocal range!

Zuberoa A. - Diabulus in Musica

A clean, very well crafted and with a great vocal range, with severe mid and high notes perfect, voice is a delight, in operatic passages as well as the more melodic.

Ida Elena - Cantus Lunaris & Bare Infinity

Soft and artistic voice, Mezzo Soprano, in which strikes a perfect middle notes tinged with Gaby!

Julie deletoile - Vortex Kosmik

Alternative Singer Opera (rock, blues and experimental opera) Opera and Classical serious tone that shows us that strong voice, Soprano.

Hannah Wagner - Saeldes Sanc

Singer and pianist of great talent with a voice tinged clear, clean and smooth, Goth and Folk influences Medieval.

Gaby Koss beautiful voice certainly Soprano with varied achievements in their vocal ranges, really skilled, exquisite listen!

Covert Art: perfect!

Score

9.5/10

LIGHT FROM THE ANGELS ROSES THE REVIEW!!!

LIGHT FROM THE ANGELS ROSES
THE REVIEW

By Darkzen

FROM LIGHT ROSE THE ANGELS, are a female fronted symphonic pop metal / electro band from Los Angeles California, USA with the talented vocalist VK Lynne, may remember her in Stork band the album 'Broken Pieces' or the Project Vita Nova amazing Album with beautifuls voices! Well here my review!

Country: USA

Band: Light Roses From the Angels

Alignment:

VK Lynne- voice

Janne Tamminen- guitar / keyboards,

Andrew Faust- guitar / vocals,

Arno Nurmisto- Bass,

Justin Lee Dixon battery

Genre: Electro Pop Rock Symphonic

Analysis:

The Grey Returns

It has a single input, and a rocker and Electro sound, has good atmosphere background with piano, just gives you that classic touch, no guttural scoops up the background sound not opaque soft voice with a color VK melancholic track! Very good I like that! But the guttural does not give you that dense or dark touch if that is the intention, speed and compass is intermediate, the time between voice and music is time well measured throughout the track's beautiful voice our talented friend is present.

Holding Stones

Good entry line, electro-atmospheric dramatic and melancholy, in rhyme and compass, intermediate as above, the combination of guttural vocals give it that touch heartbreaking, VK's voice remains in power, light and speed ! The finish is good

Selfish

This track if it is a little heavier than the previous two, initially rude! With increased speed and melodic sequences of regular background, battery outperforms other sounds, beautiful voice and VK's fastest speed! Good only discrete guitar, guttural gives the magic touch heartbreaking, not as strong but good!

BloodRoses

I find good rock ballad, intermediate in the music album sequence, light accompanied with acoustic guitar and a combined voice changed, discreet sound and intermediate speed, very present guitar solos, and a predictable ending.

Proud2B

A different entrance, rock and dense, but not heavy, strong battery on medium speed but retains the compass, the battery gives it that rough touch! The guitars a nice addition, voice remains the same power and rhythm, and the final chord at the entrance.

Tear Down Teh Horizon

Pretty and full of strong acoustic sound input, it gives a body to the song, with atmospheric sequences rich background, little presence of the voice of VK, which we hear the clearest musical structure, throaty voice has more body in this song! With an unexpected ending!

The Grey Returns (Acustic)
Excellent sound, I hear clearly the voice of VK, both in scale and skill, smooth and clean, which gives a bonus to the album! And more to the background sequence very perfect symphony.

My recommendation

It's a varied album yes, including symphony, rockers and Electronic sequences with a heavier touch, continuous no enigmatic, guttural voice adds a touch Goth notorious, combined with clean, clear and soft voice VK, throughout the disc her voice remains constant but slightly more noticeable in the song 'Selfish', in the range of voice is good, except in high notes, which deepens in tone, has speed regulating the album, except 'Selfish' it is the fastest of the album, the album is not monotonous, if musical variations and emotions, the battery is strong and keeps the beat, guitars and solos give that classic touch, although shorter times.

+ The Good
It is a good album, has some different combinations and sounds normal, which the voice and the theme of the album is unexpected! Pop Rock, Electro Symphonic and a not so usual combination also plays in the background the influence Goth

-The Bad
As I said the disc is continuous and varied, but in some songs the sound is similar as emotion and musical question I think you can give more! And listen even more intimidating and expecting more songs from this album debut!

Originality and Creativity

Perfect, no problem, very creative and genuine in the Cover Art is mysterious, with an open musical instruments on a shield curtain, with very bright colors but showing the dark side of the disc

Technical

Well, forcefulness, compass and ability of the guitars and bass on some songs the battery is more noticeable than others, solos give the classic touch Rocker and good electronic help.

Vocal
It's very interesting, the voice of VK is smooth, clean and clear, does not reach very high notes, which could be heard very sharp indeed have a good excellent Rocker falsetto with a regular grave and the acoustic version can listen to its maximum splendor your vocal range!

AZIZA! ARIA FLAME AMAZING WOMAN! WITH A SWEET FRAGANCE! THE INTERVIEW!!

AZIZA! ARIA FLAME
AMAZING WOMAN! WITH A SWEET FRAGANCE!

By Darkzen

This week I give you a hot interview! If thanks to our friend Aria Flame! Aziza A. Poggi! Talented singer with a great history within the scenarios. Some of his biography! Taken from my Super top!

Talented Singer! And beauty! She created in the spring of 2011 by dramatic mezzo soprano singer and composer, neo-classical female fronted metal with a circus flare.

They are described as a neo classical dark hard rock outfit with a circus like flare, which was created out of the ashes of progressive Egyptian themed metal band Dendura. Whom which was heard on Comedy Central Network, featured in national magazines such as Metal Hammer and Vocals, and also opening for several international acts such as Epica, Unexpect, Scar Symmetry, Edguy, Doro Pesch and The Agonist. They disbanded in late 2010. Their music is inspired from movie soundtrack composers Danny Elfman and John Williams, classical and baroque composers, Beethoven and Handel, and metal bands such as Korn, Nevermore, Revamp. On occasion, Aria Flame will perform Dendura music as well.
Aria Flame’s music features classical and haunting rock style female vocals with classical and symphonic keyboards, electric guitar and intricate bass and drums

Thank you very much! My friend! For this opportunity!

Aziza: Thank you for the interview! I’m happy to answer.

Have you been?

Aziza: Very good! Staying busy and productive! Everything is great.
Tell us! You’ve done? Great look! That made you change your look?
Aziza: You must be speaking about my new photos with my other music project “Scarab’s Empire”.  I wanted a different image from that band to my other project.  With my main project, Aria Flame; there is more of a circus and phoenix representation in my pictures. So I just changed my hair and dress. Nothing else J.

Aziza Poggi who is? Behind the scenes

Aziza:  hehe J.  Well behind the scenes, I am always working on music to some degree, and I’m a bit of a homebody too. I have my personal time like most people do.  I have 2 cats, a ferret, family, friends, and I mix up perfume recipes and make orders in between all this. It’s fun.  Plus, I take a lot of walks and work out too.  I like the fresh air and sitting outside a lot.

What is your musical training? As you train your voice?

Aziza:  I am classically trained.  I took piano when I was a child. But just wasn’t disciplined. I took it again and became serious with it prior to going back to college in 2009. I started voice lessons with local voice teachers Dale Schriemer in my early days of singing with Dendura (formed in 2004, disbanded in 2010) and then I trained with Melissa Ferlaak (my fellow Eves Apple sister and singer of Plague of Stars, MY Eternel, formerly singer of Visions of Atlantis) and she helped me a lot with my high notes and getting self esteem within myself and my voice. I then went back to college for a degree in Classical Voice in 2009 and I’ve been in lessons with Diane Penning Koperski in my first year and then later with Dr Barton whom I still see for lessons.  I also trained with master voice teacher Nicholas Loren (whom has performed at Carnegie Hall, a professional retired opera singer) weekly for the whole summer in 2010 and I was in the Grand Rapids symphony chorus and performed the Lord of the Rings at the local opera, school recitals and other events the college had performances at.  Just getting involved in some of these performances, has really helped me as a singer.  I actually learned so much from voice lessons; I will never stop taking them.  I feel if I stopped learning, I stop growing. I want to always challenge myself and evolve.   I try and keep a good practice routine going and always warm up before I sing.   I also try to avoid dairy, starchy foods, and steer clear of being around smokers during show time and I won’t eat fast food ever before singing. I try not to eat it period.   I also am drinking water constantly.

What are your influences?

Aziza: I have a lot of influences.  I love Nevermore, Nightwish, Korn, Revamp, Rammstein, Eisbrecher, Muse, Tarja, Epica, Danny Elfman the composer, Tangerine Dream, and classical singers Maria Callas, Renee Fleming and Anna Netrebko. I listened to a lot of metal growing up as a teen too. Such as Quiet Riot, Dokken, Queensrcyhe, Skid Row, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and more.

I think Aria as Flame, and what is the concept?

Aziza: Aria, means solo voice for classical music. And because I sing in a classical form mixed with rock style vocals, I wanted to showcase that in our sound and in the band name. The word flame, represents the phoenix: always evolving and progressing. That is how I want our music to be.

As you get inspired to write a song?

Aziza: It varies. Usually after something very exciting happens or when a traumatic event occurs.  Sometimes, it has nothing to do with my life, but what I seen elsewhere and how it affected me emotionally.   I see a survival story and I get inspired.  For instance, I wrote “Realm of Hate” from the Cleveland kidnapping case of the three girls who went missing for a decade and found alive! I wrote “A World of Silence” during a time I was feeling overwhelmed and trying to stay away from negative people and thoughts.  It is about the personal mental breakdown of a person. I used some of my own personal stories into it, and then made it more dramatic in text. I wrote it like I was a broken doll being thrown around into a world filled with jealousy and angst.

Tell us about Scarab's Empire, as was the idea? Who are they?

Aziza: Scarab’s Empire is only my guitarist Chris Webster and I. We are seeking musicians, who want to do writing and recording, and then later we’ll worry of shows and performing with them or a live unit will be put together.  I am so busy with Aria Flame right now, so it has been a little lacking but were getting it going soon. I wanted a band that I could show case my middle eastern roots in and this project will allow me to do that.

You Like Korn, to me is an icon within the Nu Metal group and one of my groups that I like!  As Korn influence you musically?

Aziza:  Yes! Jonathon Davis is a very emotional singer.  I can say he has influenced me by singing about real things, real events and he is his own person. He is whacky on stage as I seen Korn about three times now.  I also like listening to him in interviews and express his feelings on his music and music in general. I think he is very intelligent.  I do not sing the same style as he does and our music is more melodic, but I am moved from the passion in his voice and the stories he tells. Some of our songs though, do have a Kornesque feel to the rhythm so there is slight similarity.

Aria Flame and Scarab's Empire, are two bands of the same concept or different sound?

Aziza: Very different in sound.  Aria Flame is more neo classical circus metal and many who like Nightwish, Revamp, Epica, and Trans-Siberian Orchestra usually like Aria Flame. Scarab’s Empire is all Egyptian, fusion and oriental metal in sound.  If you like Niyaz and Orphaned Land, you’ll like Scarab’s Empire when it comes out.  But because it is still my voice, I’m sure people may feel there are similarities.  In all my bands I’ve ever been in or created, there is a continuous story onto the next band and so there may be lyrical cross over’s.

You will engage the best festival, Metal Female Voices Fest, you think?

Aziza: This is the biggest show Aria Flame has ever done! We are thrilled.  We have noticed a growing fan base in Europe and I have always wanted to go so this is a dream come true! To add to our show, we are bringing three guest vocalists from the community of professional female singers I was a part of called “Eve’s Apple” (formed in 2010 and disbanded in 2013). Those three guest vocalists joining us are Sabrina Cruz from Seven Kingdoms, Grace Meridan and Kassandra Novell who are both between music projects right now.  We wanted to do something different, and also give back to the women, who have helped our band grow this last year!
We also are planning on launching our debut EP “A World of Silence” in October so this is perfect timing for the release! Our EP was mixed and mastered by award winning Grammy producer Neil Kernon (Nevermore, Judas Priest)

Some duet in which you would like to participate? And why?

Aziza:  I would love to sing with so many artists hard to name one. I will say if I could share the stage with any singer, I’d love to duet with Warrel Dane, formerly from the band Nevermore. He is actually one of my favorite male singers in the world today.  If it were female, it would be Floor Jansen. She is just amazing. I have been mesmerized by her voice since I knew of her previous band “After Forever”.

Something else we want to share my friend?

Aziza: I am also a perfumer. And I make soy candles, Whipped Shea Body Butter (Organic and scented), colognes, roll on oils, rose water hydrosols and custom orders for retail stores and individuals. I do not test on animals, and am a 100% Vegan Company.  I also use no alcohol in my perfumes and use a lot of essential oils in making my perfumes. I also have had many of the Eve’s Apple ladies featured as perfume models in my advertising. This is my way, of saying thank you and giving back to the ladies in metal, who have supported me and my company.

Thank you very much! The last words are yours to all our readers!

Aziza: Thank you for the interview!  Thank you to our supporters.  Word of mouth is still strong! Please keep spreading the word about us and tell others about our music!
