ELIZABETH AMBER THE INTERVIEW!
ELIZABETH
AMBER
BEAUTIFUL
AND POWERFUL
FRANTIC
AMBER!
By
Darkzen Dragon
This time I leave this Super interview
with melodic death metal band Frantic Amber, Sweden-based band, which has
additional curious members from 4 different countries; Sweden, Denmark, Japan
and Colombia, Latin presence! I Talked with singer Elizabeth Andrews, who
speaks about the band and some other things, started!
¿Hi Elizabeth! How
are you? Thanks for this oportunity of to know about you!
Hello
Darkzen, I’m fine thank you and greetings to your readers.
You have a
Powerful voice! ¿How was your vocal training? Is Hard?
Thank
you, I’ve been working hard to accomplish my vocal capacity. I’ve always been
singing my whole life but it wasn’t until I got really into metal that I started
experimenting with extreme vocal styles. I found out that I could produce the
sound of growl one day when I was singing along to Opeth and I wanted to sing
the whole thing including the growling parts. Out came a brutal sound and this
was the moment where I discovered that I could do it. It wasn’t until later though
when I joined Frantic Amber that I started training and teaching myself how to
really growl and finding the right techniques. It was hard yes, but also fun
and exciting.
¿Who is Elizabeth
behind the scenes and in your daily life?
I
live in the Copenhagen area in Denmark together with my fiancé and our cat. I
work full time as a software developer and have Frantic Amber besides this. I enjoy
hanging out with my family and friends and in my spare time I like to keep in
shape and be active as well as play console or computer games to relax.
¿Do you have any
Singer in special? ¿Man or Woman?
I’ve
always really liked Jonathan Davis (Korn) and Candice Clot (former Eths).
Nergal
(Behemoth)
is also one of my favorites.
¿What is your
emotional state when you sing?
This
varies and depends on the song that I’m singing. My emotional state reflects
the words that I’m singing and the aura of the music around it.
Frantic Amber is a
good band where all the members have their roots in yours countries of origin.
Are all the members involved in the songwriting process or only some one? ¿Do
you write some songs?
Mio
is our main songwriter and also gathers riffs and ideas from the others who
pitch in. When the music has some sort of solid form to it I write the lyrics
and vocals. We are all involved in the songwriting process and have iterations
with feedback and keep working with the song until we all are satisfied with
the result
¿What does mean ‘Burning
Insight’ for you? ¿How was the production?
Burning
Insight is our debut album and means a lot for us. We worked hard and long to
get the means to actually release it. We recorded everything in Underground
Studio in Västerås with Pelle Saether. It was really challenging for me
psychologically to be in the studio since I wanted everything to be perfect and
I could really feel the pressure. It turned out great and we all love the sound
of the album, so it was worth all the hard work.
¿Because you chose that theme song for your video ‘Burning
Insight’? What does mean for you?
The
title Burning Insight has come to have a double meaning for us. On one hand
it’s the title song of the album which is about the horrible rapes in India that
came to light a while ago and the song is written for the victims against the
perpetrators. On the other hand Burning Insight also has another meaning for us
as a band and the reason we chose it for the album title is because we have had
some burning insights ourselves. For example we changed line up and got back on
our feet from a very turmoiled place.
¿What does mean
the cover of the álbum?
The
fenix rising from the ashes of a skull really represents what we have been
through during the last 5 years as a band with the good and the bad. Last year
we started a new chapter of constructiveness and positivity with our now
current members and we are excited to make music together and keep going
forward with the same goals at heart.
¿Would you like to
sing other musical style like Brutal Death, Deathcore or Black?
I
love to sing different kinds of music and black metal is one of my favorite
genres. When I’m not practicing songs for Frantic Amber I have fun with other
styles.
¿Some other videoclip
coming with your band?
The
latest two releases are Burning Insight where we had an awesome setup in a huge
tunnel on some deserted train track with fire canons flaring behind us during
the section with the band playing and a side story crafted where we each had a
character from a horror movie which included special makeup artist made
zombies, creepy nurses, a green screen TV, fire and blood.
Second
we made Soar with the theme of science fiction. The world has gone under and
artificial intelligence have taken over. Frantic Amber are some of the last
humans alive and in the resistance. With lots of action, AK47replicas and
special effects we set out to save the human race.
¿Because we should to listen ‘Burning Insight’?
If
you like heavy riffs, soaring melodies and aggressive growls you will
definitely like Burning Insight. We have a lot of different influences blended
into the sound and it’s a compilation of our journey as a band and has our best
work so far.
Thank you very
much for your words! the last words are all yours, for our readers!
You are most welcome. I hope to see you in
the crowd soon and I want to thank all our fans for their awesome support!
