THERION REPORT!

By Darkzen

Therion band leave us this new:

''After Lori decided to withdraw from touring, I wanted to try working with a dramatic soprano on stage again (like Karin Fjellander). Some things in our music are written for dramatic soprano and some things are written for coloratura soprano. Not that I ever had any complaints over how Lori sang anything, but it’s a different type of color and especially low notes like in Lemuria get a feel closer to the album with a dramatic soprano. The ideal situation would be to have two sopranos on tour, but that’s a luxury we can’t afford at this point.
So we hired Sandra and did a few festivals and a tour in China/Russia with her. It worked for some festivals, but when it comes to longer touring, the high notes simply got too tough on her voice, so we decided to go back to using a coloratura instead.
So I therefore like to say goodbye and thank you to Sandra - and say welcome to the spanish coloratura Isa Garcia Navas who we invited to come with us for the cruise and festivals this year.''
