By Darkzen

The Norwegian singer Issa returns this February with 'Crossfire', his third solo album, to be published by Frontiers Records. With great voices, many keyboards and powerful guitars. Much better production than is seen in all subjects possessing a living force.

Our beautiful and talented friend starts with "Crossfire" that gives title track and soon reveals the atmospheric keyboards and sound that modern Vega fashionable. What is done reliably with Issa owner and star on vocals, amazing!

So! Go with the Interview!

Hi! Issa! Thank you very much for this great interview with you!

Happy New year! How are you?

Heya Darkzen, I’m fine - how are you? Just got over Christmas and looking forward to the release of “Crossfire”.

Darkzen: I’m fine thanks my friend! I am very happy to have this talk with you! Thank you very much!

What are you telling us my friend?

Well, I’m very excited to release my 4th album “crossfire” on frontiers records.

How was the 2014 for you?

The 2014 was a great year! It was a lot of work but worth every minute of it. It took me almost 2 years from start to finish on this album. The album has amazing songs, full of grate “hooks” and lot of keyboards. Some of these songs was written up to 5 years ago so it was awesome to get in the studio and record them.

Tell us about yourself! Who is Issa for this 2015?

Issa 2015 will be full of energy and I will be preforming and giging a lot more in 2015. I’m also looking forward to writing more songs and see where that might take us.

What are your hobbies, what do you like to do, some different out scenery?

I do love my dogs- I have to say they are a big part of my life. Other than that, I like anyone else I guess- I love being social and also go to concerts and watch other bands.

About your Album “Crossfire” on February 20th of this year, very soon, will be a different disk or similar as your two previous albums ‘’Sign of Angels’’ and ‘’The Storm’’?

I always think that I don’t want to make every album sound and feel just like the previous one- that’s really important to me, I do believe it’s more to me than just one mood or direction. This album is more in the category of “roxette” and mayby “heart”. I believe the direction was for on this album is more big hooks and grate song writing. If you start the with the basic and have a great song you have already done most of the work in my eyes. “crossfire” has a little softer feel to it then “sign of angels” and are may by bigger in terms of songs then “the storm”. You can put this album on and have a great day- if you know what I mean. Not to heavy, not to sad- but a “feel good” album.

What will be the difference in this new production? style, voice or both?

When I started up recording this album together with James martin from vega, we decided to ask John Gratewood to produce the album with us. I think because we worked so close together we managed to get just the perfect sound both vocals and production it self. For me it was very important to work with someone that could understand what I wanted- the feel I wanted and so on. As an example – I like lots of big backing vocals, some producers don’t like that and that way you looksee the intital ide in production of the song. John was grate working with me on my vocals and I’m really happy with the result. Feel to the album is more keyboard and big hooks. A little different to my other albums.

Guest artists will have your album?

Yes on this album, i done a duet with Steve overland from Fm. Steve has always been my favourite male singer and I still can’t believe it- ha. I remember sending him “fight fire with rain” as this was the song I thought would be grate as a duet, but when the mixes came back from john I just knew I had picked the wrong song. I realised that it was raintown” that I wanted to record as a duet. I got in touch with Steve again and send him “Raintown” and he loved the song. And after that I think the rest is history. :) As for all the amazing guest musicians ive had on this album, ive been lucky to work with most of the guys before so it felt very natural to have them as part of this album to.

Do you wrote some songs? For you, which is the starting point for writing a song?

Yes I love writing songs- I do write a lot with the martin brothers and how it goes down is- first the backingtrack is made then the lyrics and melody, then vocals... and after that you might repeat the whole process and change bits you are not happy with. Sometimes you are luck and you have a grate song and sometimes you are not haha.

Which is the main song of the album for you? And why?

Oh I can’t even choose- this album is a collection of songs over many years and all the songs are just amazing. When it came to what song we wanted to pick as a video – I said to frontiers to just pick one- they are all as good to me... “raintown” is of course very special as I get to perform with one of my favourite singers.

Will there be a special video clip?

Yes I did record my video in Milan Italy- the song to the video will be Crossfire...

Why have you taken so long to release an álbum my friend?

Well I would say ive been very luck and got the chance to release 3 album previous to this- I think this one just took longer as it’s been more of my own project really. Moreover, I’m often very critical to myself ha so it takes time to perfect something.

In the pictures that appear very promotional show up explosively and sexy! Have you been offered at some point be a model?

Ah – no I have gone down that road... I must say to all models out there that i give you credit for the work you do- it’s hard to pose for a whole day and it takes a lot of preparation for these shoots. I think I will stick to music and leave modelling to the professionals.

Anything else you would like to share with us my friend?

I would like to thank everybody for all the amazing support and to please go to my new “like” page on facebook.com/issasite for updates on gigs and so on...

Thank you very much! for your time and hear from you!
